Library Events

LRC Hours -  The LRC will be open daily from 7:30 - 3:30 (unless otherwise posted on the door).

2nd - 6th Grade Students - Library Olympic Games is underway! Our first LOG store will be during the tenth week of school.  Students who are handing in their reading logs are completed are receiving the most points. 

STAR Reader Tests  - We have tested all students in 1st - 6th grade.  Results have been sent home in the Wednesday folder.  If you did not receive these results, please e-mail your child's homeroom teacher for the results.

New Books -  Since the beginning of school, the library has increased its collection by 221 new titles!  There is something for everyone.  Come and check it out.

The fourth quarter LOG form is now available on-line, click here to download the form.

New Books -   Approximately $1100 worth of Christian titles have been added to the LRC from the Sonshine Harbor Book Fair.  Thank you for your support in bringing great content to our library and to our students.

Accelerated Reader
Students in Grades 2 - 6 can access the Accelerated Reader program and take tests from home over the internet.  To access this website, click here.  (Make sure you check your system requirements when you reach the home page.) 

There is a website to look up book titles and check for existing quizzes.  www.arbookfind.com .  
The points they earn in taking Accelerated Reading quizzes, will go toward their Library Olympic Game points. 

Now parents can receive e-mail notification upon the completion of every AR quiz taken to monitor their child's progress and goals.  To have access to this information, please click here.  Use your student's user name and password to log in and then click the 'Email Setup" in the upper right corner.

L.O.G. 2008-2009
Library Olympic Games is a parent sponsored, reading incentive program for students in grades 2 - 6.  If you are interested in donating items to the LOG store, or volunteering to assist in this program, please contact Janine Sellers at jsellers@jupiterchristian.org.

 

Elementary Library
Library classes are offered weekly to all K3-6th grade students.  These classes are designed to teach students the basic skills needed to effectly use library resources.  Students are also exposed to a wide variety or literary types, reference materials, and periodicals.

Secondary Library
Secondary students have scheduled access to the library throughout the week.  In addition to books, reference materials, and periodicals, students are encouraged to use online periodicals, databases, and major search engines to accomplish their academic tasks.
