Library Events

LRC Hours -  The LRC will be open daily from 7:30 - 3:30 (unless otherwise posted on the door).

2nd - 6th Grade Students - Olympic Games is a parent sponsored, reading incentive program for students.  More information will be handed out during parent orientation. 

STAR Reader Tests  - Students in 1st through 8th grade will be STAR tested three times thoughout the year to give a snapshot of the students progress.   The students' results will be communicated via reports in the Wednesday folder, e-mail or direct communication from the teacher.

New Books -  260 new books have been added during the summer.  Come and check them out!

The fourth quarter LOG form is now available on-line, click here to download the form.

Accelerated Reader
Students in Grades 2 - 6 can access the Accelerated Reader program and take tests from home over the internet.  To access this website, click here.  (Make sure you check your system requirements when you reach the home page.) 

There is a website to look up book titles and check for existing quizzes.  www.arbookfind.com .  
The points they earn in taking Accelerated Reading quizzes, will go toward their Library Olympic Game points. 

Now parents can receive e-mail notification upon the completion of every AR quiz taken to monitor their child's progress and goals.  To have access to this information, please click here.  Use your student's user name and password to log in and then click the 'Email Setup" in the upper right corner.

L.O.G. 2009-2010
Library Olympic Games is a parent sponsored, reading incentive program for students in grades 2 - 6.  If you are interested in donating items to the LOG store, or volunteering to assist in this program, please contact Janine Sellers at jsellers@jupiterchristian.org.

 

Elementary Library
Library classes are offered weekly to all K3-6th grade students.  These classes are designed to teach students the basic skills needed to effectly use library resources.  Students are also exposed to a wide variety or literary types, reference materials, and periodicals.

Secondary Library
Secondary students have scheduled access to the library throughout the week.  In addition to books, reference materials, and periodicals, students are encouraged to use online periodicals, databases, and major search engines to accomplish their academic tasks.
